Going to see Mickey!
UD DECA had an amazing trip at the Hershey Lodge, Hershey PA for their 2014-2015 State Conference! The DECA students left on Tuesday, February 24th to their first stop - Harrisburg!
The students were given a tour of our beautiful Pennsylvania State capitol and had the pleasure of meeting and taking a picture with our district representative - Margo Davidson!
On the way to Hershey for competition, the students passed the beautifully FROZEN Susquehanna River! It was AWESOME.
One of the biggest highlights for the students were the FROZEN HOT CHOCOLATES! The drink was almost like a taste of Heaven. For some, it burned a hole in their wallets... but it was worth every penny!
During downtime, students were given the chance to catch a shuttle bus to Chocolate World! Needless to say, it was delicious. (:
We are so proud of Junior Jessica King for running in the DECA Executive Board Election against some seasonal DECA professionals! Given King did not win the election, she represented Upper Darby with ultimate class and professionalism! Her booth was bomb.com too! We hope that you had a great time at this States conference Jessica!
Upper Darby DECA is a unique club in many ways, that prepares students in high school to excel far and beyond what they are expected to and or are given the opportunity to. Most schools Upper Darby competes in competition with, have DECA dedicated classes to prepare the students to ace the tests/role plays. Although Upper Darby has not yet developed any DECA focused class, the club manages to place more and more students every year based on self preparation and commitment. It was a blessing in itself that out of 200 members, UD was able to send 60 kids to States because they either placed at Districts or wanted to compete again at a State Only Event. We are proud to report that Upper Darby HAS THE OPPORTUNITY to send students to Nationals this year based on qualification at the State Level!

UD Horticulture takes on the Philadelphia Flower Show!
Upper Darby offers lots of new and exciting opportunities for students to grow and explore the world. One of the coolest and underrated programs would be the Horticultural classes. This year, UD's Horticulture II classes worked endlessly to create one of a kind displays for the Philadelphia Flower Show! They competed against other schools for the best exhibits.
We are proud to announce that Upper Darby's Horticulture II classes brought home 3rd place overall for both of their entering exhibits!!
We are so proud of all your hard work Hort II! Keep it up!
